Interface Standards

Within the LZX Visionary system, common frontpanel control and jack markings have been condensed to minimal, easily recognizable symbols. This page is a legend of frontpanel symbology in use throughout many modules. Module-specific symbology is addressed on individual module pages.

  0 Volt Bias
  1 Volt Bias
  -1 Volt Bias
  Input Signal (100% Gain)
  Inverted Input Signal (100% Gain)
  Input Signal (200% Gain)
1 Volt Bias summed with Inverted Input Signal (100% Gain)
Jacks inside a black outline are signal inputs.
Jacks on a black background are signal outputs.
An arrow from one input jack to another input jack indicates a switched, or normalized connection in the direction of the arrow. In this example, a signal patched into the upper jack will be automatically connected to the input below it. Patching a second signal into the lower jack will break this connection. Some modules allow access to three or even six inputs at once from a single patch point.
An arrow between two panel controls indicates that the outputs of both controls are summed together. In this example, an input level and inversion control is summed with a 0 Volt to 1 Volt bias control.

The following interactive animation demonstrates the function of the level/inversion control and inversion mode switch as found on the Video Blending Matrix module. This arrangement allows three separate processing operations on the input signal: positive level control, inverted level control, and an inverted level and positive bias control.
