Tommy D PrinzGood video Sam, gives a really good sense of the modules and should give someone debating between certain things where their priorities are. Personally because I'm likely to have a 2 navigator 1 shapeshifter set up at first, I got a sense that that was probably a good choice.

"In many European countries television static noise, or "snow", is described using the visual metaphor of a war between swarms of black and white insects. War Of The Ants is our first dedicated noise and texture generation instrument for video synthesis. At its core is a wideband full spectrum noise generator based on amplification of the avalanche noise characteristic found within certain diodes. With the ability to modify and filter the separate spectral characteristics of horizontal, vertical, and low frequency noise, War Of The Ants is capable of generating textures that range from blinking starfields to buzzing grayscale grain to thrashing clipped snow." ... "Shapechanger is our most ambitious analog computing module to date. Designed to take two continuous input voltages representing X and Y points on a display, Shapechanger processes the size, width, height, aspect ratio, symmetry, and curve of a resulting quadrilateral figure. Combined with Navigator for positioning and rotation of the figure, these modules provide a holistic 2D analog graphics engine suitable for direct video synthesis and vector rescanning techniques. A typical use case is to process the horizontal and vertical ramp waveforms generated by Visual Cortex, and receive a 2D shape output. The resulting shape can be modulated and combined with other video and pattern elements to create complex geometries for the final output video." ... See MoreSee Less

Tommy D PrinzOkay, here's a theoretical question. Does having two navigators per ShapeChanger add more to the game or are you better off with one nav per one shape?

LZX IndustriesMultiple Navigators per Shapechanger (one to position, one to modulate) and multiple Shapechangers per Navigator (one positionable shape, one fixed position shape) are both viable techniques. These two modules are separate and designed the way they are to support multiples in various configurations -- so there isn't really a wrong answer when it comes to how many of each you have in a system. Various serial and parallel processing techniques will unveil some pretty amazing content. For example, with 2 Navigators and 2 Shapechangers you could put the 2 Navigators in series, with a Shapechanger feeding off each's outputs. Now you have a shape which spins inside of another spinning shape! Also keep in mind Doorway and Staircase are meant to integrate into this HV analog computing environment in various ways as well.
